Deposit Policy
When you arrive at the rental office, a deposit will be required for your rental. The deposit amount will be blocked (not charged) on your payment card or in cash at the time of pickup. In the case of online check-in, the deposit will be blocked within 48 hours prior to vehicle collection or as agreed with a Rentacar GEISCAR representative. This amount will be deducted from your available credit limit or held in cash.
The deposit will be used for any additional charges (for example, missing fuel upon return, extra days, extra mileage, one-way fees, etc.) only if applicable.
In case of an accident, the insurance policy will be applied, and a deductible of up to $3,500,000 COP (three million five hundred thousand Colombian Pesos) will apply, or as specified by the insurance company.
If the renter has purchased additional protection, no deductible will be charged. Exceptions apply (loss of keys, license plate, documents, or reckless driving).
The renter must provide a guarantee or deposit, which Rentacar GEISCAR will return as long as the contract clauses have been fulfilled and the vehicle is returned in the same condition it was delivered. The renter must also be up to date with rental payments and free of any civil or criminal obligations, such as fines or penalties imposed by authorities. The lessor is authorized to take copies of the following documents: CREDIT CARD, ID CARD, and DRIVER’S LICENSE.
